A general health check-up camp was organized on 1st April 2017 for around 160 underprivileged children aged 5 to 17 at Shardashram Orphanage in Shirgaon, Pune. The camp included full physical checkup (eyes, ears, nose, nails, dental health) and mental health check as well. Post the checkup, the affected children were prescribed the necessary medications.
Overall outcome of the camp turned out to be creating awareness among the children and the authorities regarding the importance of hygiene and good health. To keep their eyes, ears, nose, teeth and their bodies clean, to cut their nails regularly, and to immediately raise concerns in case of any discomfort or illness.
The plan is to organize such camps regularly, and the next one is being planned around Diwali this year.
