Muslim women are more likely to be victims of hate, especially if they choose a field that shatters the deeply rooted myths of the society. It is really unfortunate to say that women, particularly Muslims, lack a significant place in journalism and politics.Noor Zahira is one of our leaders who, despite the society’s so-called discrimination, has chosen to pursue what she always wanted to do. She is a BA student in political science, economics, and journalism (triple majors) from Bangalore. She describes the problem Muslim women face at work, where a huge gender gap exists. She had extensively worked with her team for the destitute in slums during the COVID crisis, from rationing to handmade mask distribution, spending her own pocket money that she had saved for a phone. She is also a journalist and covered many stories during the CAA protests last year.
